What you may have missed at Apple's Special Event

Did you blink and miss the Apple Pencil 2? Maybe you didn't notice Phil Schiller doing the voiceover instead of Jony Ive?

There were a couple of quick little things that happened at Apple's Special Event that may not have pinged your radar, but we here at iMore were keeping track of it all! Here are some things you might have missed at the Oct. 30, 2018 event.

60 new Today at Apple sessions

Whether you're someone who wants to learn more about a specific app, someone who wants to start making their own movies and editing their own photography and music like a pro, or even just someone who wants to learn about the new iPad, there's an Apple Session for that. Now, thanks to new updates to Today at Apple, there's going to be 60 new sessions that you can attend and learn from.

There are labs like "creating your first video," co-created with online video illusionist Zach King using the Clips app, a fun family portraits lab, a design lab that's run by architects, a new lab they're launching using Final Cut Pro so you can tweak and perfect your footage, a music lab called advanced beat making using Logic Pro to program different styles of beats, and much, much more.

Apple Pencil 2

The Apple Pencil has been a key tool in creative people's lives ever since its initial launch, pairing perfectly with the iPad and changing the game for to how people draw and interact with their tablet. Now Apple has introduced the iPad Pencil 2, and it has a lot of people talking.

The new Apple Pencil has a new design and charges wirelessly by magnetically connecting to the side — any side! — of the new iPad Pro. We've rounded up everything we know about the device so far, but in general:

The new Apple Pencil also allows you to double tap the pencil to switch between modes, even the eraser, making it easier than ever to access the mode you need while you're using the Apple Pencil. (Apple Pencil (2018): Everything you need to know!)

The new Apple Pencil will cost $129 and is available to order today and will be available in stores on Nov. 7, 2018.

New peripherals

There are a couple of new goodies on the Apple site, including a USB-C to SD card reader for $40 and a USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter for you to browse through. Those are going to be extra handy considering Apple finally switched to USB-C with this latest announcement.

Beautiful new Apple Store on iconic Avenue des Champs-Élysées

This stunning, iconic Paris street has been featured in countless films and has often been called one of the most beautiful avenues in the world. Now, Apple is going to have a store right in the heart of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

The new store will open in November, and Apple is reportedly paying 12 million euros per year for the picturesque space.
