Here's what's new in iOS gaming this week!

Every Thursday, I go on a quest to find all the notable new games released on the App Store over the week, but instead of taking all the gold and experience for myself, I pass my knowledge on to you! Whether you're looking for new games, games on sale, or wondering if your favorite game got a big update, I'll break down all the notable iOS gaming news for you!

New games of the week

Need something new and shiny? Every week tons of games hit the App Store, and I keep track, so you don't have to; here are the notable releases for this week.

AR games!

Apple's new ARKit is one of the most exciting things to happen to mobile gaming. Ever since I played Pokémon GO for the first time, I knew AR gaming was going to have a promising future.

The list of ARKit games joining the App Store is growing every day, heck, in the last 24 hours the amount of ARKit apps on the App Store has doubled. I highly suggest you check out our list of the best ARKit App and Games, and try all the games listed there. They are beyond cool and will really get your feet wet in a whole new world. Go check them out!

The beautiful space exploration game Morphite will satisfy even the most powerful wanderlust for the stars.

Morphite takes place in the future where humans have already populated the far reaches of space. You'll play as a young woman, Myrah Kale, living on a space station under the care of one they call Mr. Mason. When Myran heads out on a routine exploratory mission to gather supplies, she suddenly finds more rare, previously unknown mineral called Morphite.

This game is gorgeous. It's polygon-style graphics and bright color palettes and Morphite a delight to explore. On top of a pretty robust campaign, Morphite also has random space-combat encounters, and all the planets are filled with procedurally generated creatures, secrets, and terrain for you to travel through.

Thimbleweed Park

From the creators of the classics, Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion, comes the new point-and-click adventure and puzzle game, Thimbleweed Park.

Play as five different characters and solve the mysteries of Thimbleweed Park, the small, weird town where dead bodies are the least of your problems. Plus, these characters don't know just how connected they all are and that they're being watched!

You'll need to explore some spooky places, like a haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, and a burnt-out pillow factory, to uncover the true story of Thimbleweed Park.

Games on sale this week

Good things come to those who wait! Every week games go on sale, and you can take advantage of significant savings. Here are the notable deals of this week.

A Normal Lost Phone

The critically-acclaimed game is now only $0.99 on the App Store!

You've found a lost phone and decide to turn it on so you can find out who the owner is and return it; however, you quickly realize something weird is going on.

You'll need to go through text messages, pictures, and other apps on the lost phone to find out what happened to its owner, Sam. The game does a great job of making you think about what would happen if you ever lost your phone, and it builds an emotional connection to the characters.

Alto's Adventure

To celebrate the release of iOS 11 and the launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Alto's Adventure is only $1.99 on the App Store!

Alto's Adventure is an incredible game. So much more than an endless runner, you play as Alto, snowboarding down slopes, catching llamas, collecting coins, and doing tricks. And it's stunning. Like stunning stunning. The soundtrack is lovely and though everything is do-or-die, you don't really feel that pressure like you do with Temple Run or even Super Mario Run.

Time passes as you go, and the landscape changes, as you snowboard through mountain villages at sunset, grinding bunting lines and rooftops. This is the most relaxing time you'll ever spend playing an endless runner, and you won't even be that choked when you inevitably land on your head trying to do a backflip.

Deus Ex Go

Play Deus Ex Go for only 99 cents this week! That's right it's still on sale!

From Square Enix's popular GO series, comes the mobile addition to the Deus Ex franchise that has everything you could want in a puzzle game.

Deus Ex GO never gets boring, as the game layers in complex systems to solve each puzzle. Defeating enemies, hacking computers, and sneaking your way around the map are just a few of the techniques you'll need to apply to be successful.

If you're a fan of Deus EX or the other games in the GO series, downloading Deus Ex GO is a no-brainer.

Luke's game of the week

Every week I'm falling in love with a new game or re-playing an old favorite. Here's what I have been playing this week!

Red's Kingdom

I can't recommend Red's Kingdom enough! The well-thought-out puzzles that are laid out in beautifully colorful landscapes are enough to make this game worth purchasing on their own, and that's without taking into account all the other great aspects Red's Kingdom.

Read my full review of Red's Kingdom

The gameplay stays fresh and constantly throws new challenges your way, and is so much more than a puzzle game. Red's Kingdom opens the doors to its world and allows you to take nonlinear paths giving you the opportunity to explore different areas and find alternate routes to hidden treasures.

Throw in Red's Kingdom's clever scripting and the wacky but lovable cast of characters, and it's a no-brainer. Red's Kingdom is a slam dunk!
